Founded by Christine Ussler in 1986, Artefact, Inc. has established a reputation for excellent design, sustainable solutions, and extensive knowledge of historic architecture. We specialize in adaptive reuse, new construction, interior design, and historic preservation. We have been fortunate to work on a wide variety of projects of all types and sizes, giving us valuable skillsets in tackling the ever-evolving challenges of architecture.

Artefact’s portfolio includes multi-use properties, residential (single-family and multi-family) properties, restaurants and market halls, educational facilities, courthouses, theaters, museums, retail establishments, and other cultural and recreational facilities. Our firm also provides historic preservation consulting to municipalities as well as private developers and owners.
